Victorian Miniature Railway

Overview The Victorian Miniature Railway, located in Harcourt, is a 7¼" gauge railway situated on a 65-acre property. Run by a dedicated team of volunteers, the facility features a 2.7-kilometre track that carries a variety of both steam and diesel-powered miniature locomotives. The railway officially opened in December 2025 after a nine-year development project by the model engineering club.

The train journey offers views of the surrounding countryside, including Mount Alexander and a neighbouring active train line. The main station building is modelled after the historic Maryborough station. The railway operates on a regular schedule for public running days, offering rides that last approximately 12-14 minutes.

Best for: All ages. Children under two years old ride for free.

Facilities: Toilets, including family and accessible toilets, are located in the station building. On-site parking is available, with additional parking at the nearby Harcourt Pony Club serviced by a shuttle on busy days. A picnic area is currently under construction.

Note: Tickets must be purchased on-site at the ticket booth; pre-booking is not available. It is recommended not to bring a pram if possible due to limited parking space for them. Pets are not permitted on the trains, with the exception of service animals.
